Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

The trip to Yamanashi was the most fun, as it has beautiful scenery & cultural and historical value!

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

The most interesting aspects of the program was having to adapt to a Japanese learning environment without English & learning + applying the new grammar I learned throughout the course.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

The online videos on GoKCP which explained grammar were very useful during my studies. The blue notebook was also useful, since I was able to test out new grammar and have it corrected without fear of getting a bad grade.

Anything you especially liked in the living arrangements? Any problems you experienced?

The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The neighborhood surrounding the dorm was also very pleasant.

What dorm did you live in or host family did you live with?

Musashi Kosugi, Crevia Will

Any comments or tips for prospective/new KCP students?

Spend time learning common kanji & radicals. Most of my study time and effort was spent towards Kanji.

Testimonials

If you want a challenge, then this program in definitely what you’re looking for. I came into the program with very basic knowledge of Japanese and am definitely excited about how much I have improved. Learning a language isn’t instant and it takes a while to sink in, but the longer you’re here you become more motivated to utilize what you learn and to continue to progress in your studies. And all of the instructors and office staff are some of the most friendly and approachable people I have ever met. They really make the whole experience quite enjoyable!
